1971 Seth Vincent fresh out of college, embarks on his life long dream of working for the US Forest Service. He applied for a seasonal job working in Timber Management on the White Mountain National Forest. On his first day of work his dream is shattered. He is railroaded into a job in Law Enforcement. The Law enforcement program is brand new. Retired FBI Special Agent, Joe Mack is just starting to put the program together. Seth and Joe become good friends and work numerous cases together. One of the first tasks, dealing with the Hippie Communes that are springing up on the Forest. Seth's life is complicated because he is a Deputy Sheriff in the County just south of the National Forest. If anyone were to discover his second job, he would have to chose between his Sheriff's position and his dream job with the Forest Service.
