Definition of Handmade & AI Policy

Handmade requirements

  • Jewelry: Must involve more than two purchased components, rather than simply attaching a charm or bead to a cord or earwire.
  • Stickers: Must use your original artwork.
  • No unlicensed characters, sports teams, Grinch products, or similar protected properties.

Anti-AI Policy

  • All work sold or displayed must be created by the vendor.
  • AI-generated or heavily AI-altered products, designs, or images are not permitted.
  • Any AI-generated items found in booths will be removed.
  • Repeated violations may result in termination of participation.
  • Vendors agree not to use other artists’ work to train or generate AI content.
Helpful Information
  • MCM posts themed prompts daily at 10 AM on Facebook. Comment with relevant products regularly to help engagement and provide material for reels and promotions.

The more comments we have on posts, the more people the algorithm shows things to.

These posts are also used to create reels and other promotional materials.

  • Keep a sign in your space and keep business cards stocked.
  • Label display pieces with your vendor number.
  • Label products with your contact information. Adding “Handmade in [your town]” can add useful context and value.
  • Make prices removable while keeping your contact information attached.
  • Attach a short description to products so gift recipients know what the item is and how to use it.
  • If printing your own barcode labels, include price, barcode, SKU, vendor number, and business name.
  • To delete an item, rename it DELETE and make sure its quantity is greater than 0.

Save the portal link to your phone

iPhone: Open the portal in Safari, tap Share, choose Add to Home Screen, then confirm.

Android: Open the portal in your browser, use the three-dot menu, choose Add to Home screen, and confirm.

SKU and quantity practices

Use individual SKUs for individual items and use Save & Copy when adding similar items. This allows distinct designs to be sold online even if they share a general product name.

When removing inventory from the store, update the quantities in the system.

Inventory & Website

Everything you need to add inventory correctly, get products onto the website, maintain your vendor profile, print labels, restock, and manage sales and orders.

How to Add Inventory

Each materially different item must have its own SKU.

A red bow and a blue bow are two different items, even if they are the same shape and size. Each needs its own SKU and its own photo in order to be included on the website.

Required fields

Name
Use a useful, descriptive item name. For example, use “Child's Hair Bow”, not simply “Bow.”

Quantity

Enter your actual quantity on hand.

Price
Enter the selling price for the item.

Category
Choose one of the many organized item types available in the portal. If you do not see the perfect category, choose a close-enough option and ask us whether we can create a better one.

Brand
Start typing your business name, then click your business name from the list.

Do not rely on Tab or Enter to select your Brand. This can cause the brand selection not to “stick,” which will prevent the item from appearing in your website section.

Recommended fields

Extra Information
Add a searchable item description. This information appears on the website and helps customers discover your products through search.

Example: “This handmade bow is made with cotton fabric and an alligator clip. 3" wide.”

Color
Use this when similar items are available in different colors. One-off items, books, and similar products generally do not need a color.

Size
Use this whenever the size of the item matters. Stickers, paintings, and similar products benefit from having a size entered.

All clothing must have a size and gender/age in the "Family Group".

Use S, M, L, XL, etc., or Small, Med, Large, etc. Whichever format you choose, be consistent.

Boxes you should not check

Used
Do not check the Used box.

Do Not Discount
Do not check Do Not Discount.

Checking Do Not Discount prevents us from running percentage-off sales for you and also prevents you from using the Sale % Off categories to discount items.

Saving items

  • Save & Close: Use when creating only one item.
  • Save & Copy: Copies the item information so you can quickly create another similar item with its own SKU and details.

UPC field:

Leave this field blank unless the item has a nationally registered UPC or equivalent registered identifier.

Examples include many commercially packaged food products with registered UPCs and books with a registered ISBN.

Do not enter your SKU, a made-up number, or any other internal identifier in the UPC field.

Do not reuse old SKUs.

How to Add Items to the Website

First, create the item in your portal according to the inventory instructions in this guide.

Make Sure Your Item Can Be Found on the Website

Brand is required for your item to appear in your maker collection on the website.

Start typing your business name in the Brand box, then click your business name in the list.

Do not rely on Tab or Enter to select your Brand. This can cause the brand selection not to “stick,” which will prevent the item from appearing in your website section.

Extra Information is extremely important for website search and product discovery.

Add a searchable item description that appears on the website and helps customers find your products.

Example: “This handmade bow is made with cotton fabric and an alligator clip. 3" wide.”

Use the Extra Information box to describe what the item is, what it is made from, important features, dimensions, materials, use, or other words a customer might search for. The more useful information you provide, the easier it is for customers to discover the item on the website.

Items with Multiple Colors or Sizes

If you sell the same design in multiple colors, sizes, or both, enter the appropriate Color and Size on each individual SKU.

This information allows related SKUs to be “family'd” together on the website.

Instead of showing every size and color as a completely separate product, we may be able to merge them into one website listing with Color and Size selectors for the customer.

This is especially important for clothing and other products offered in variations. All clothing must have a size. Use S, M, L, XL, etc., or Small, Med, Large, etc., and be consistent with the format you choose.

Option 1: Easiest — Simple Consign Photo App

  4. Take a photo of the item by itself by tapping the white circle.
  5. Tap Save.
  6. Tap the back arrow, scan the next barcode, and repeat.

Option 2: Advanced

  1. Use the in-store iPad and photo area.
  2. Open the iPad Camera app and select Square.
  3. Take the photo and edit it as desired.
  4. Open the Simple Consign Photo App.
  5. Scan the item barcode, tap Camera Roll, select the edited photo, and save it.
  6. Repeat for each item.

Option 3: Submit Your Own Photos

If you have a lightbox or another well-lit photo area at home, you may use photos taken at home.

  • Photos must be square.
  • Photos must be well-lit.
  • Use a white or neutral background.
  • Keep your product photography consistent from item to item.

You can email photos to inventorymcm@gmail.com, or use the Simple Consign Photo App at home to upload them.

Photo access is required for this option and must be approved by management.

Online selling photo rules

  • Censor profanity in product photos.
  • Do not use trademarked characters, sports team logos, or similar copyrighted/trademarked imagery.
  • Use bright, clean, sharp photos.
  • Do not use stock photos from suppliers.
Vendor Bios for the Website

All members receive their own section of the Manchester Craft Market website, including a logo, a short About section, and available inventory.

Submit Your Vendor Bio

Complete the Vendor Bio Form to provide the information used for your website profile.

You can use just your state for your location, or a region of the state ("Lakes Region NH, Capitol Region NH) instead of a town if you're concerned about privacy.

Send Your Logo

Email your logo to inventorymcm@gmail.com.

Logo requirements:

Logos must be square and at least 1000 × 1000 pixels

Self-Identifying Business Information

The vendor bio form includes optional self-identifying checkboxes for:

  • Veterans
  • Women
  • LGBTQIA+
  • Disabled
  • BIPOC
  • AAPI
  • Hispanic

Additional identities can be added upon request.

Manchester Craft Market is an incredibly inclusive community, and we want vendors to be able to represent themselves accurately and in the way that feels right to them.

Printing Labels

SimpleConsign's step-by-step label guide:

Print Desktop Labels in Consignor Access

Labels to purchase

Recommended Avery label sheets:

  • Avery 5160 — 30 labels per sheet
  • Avery 5161 — 20 labels per sheet
  • Avery 94749 Barbells — 45 labels per sheet, when barbell-style labels are needed

Buy the version made for your printer type. Avery product numbers can differ between inkjet and laser versions, so confirm printer compatibility before purchasing.

Printing Labels In Store

The printing computer is located out back.

In-store label printing login:

Terminal ID: T86368
Password: MCMPRINT
PIN: 3446

  1. Enter your brand/business name to search your items, or search for a specific SKU. Newest items appear at the top of the list.
  2. Select the checkboxes for the items you want to print.
  3. To print one label for each selected item, choose Print Labels.
  4. To print labels for the current on-hand quantity of each selected item, choose Print Total Quantity, then Print Labels.
  5. To print a different number of labels for one item, click the blue SKU. In the lower-left corner, choose how many labels to print.

Printing at Home from Consignor Access

  1. Open Consignor Access and go to the Items tab.
  2. Select the checkbox beside each item that needs labels, or use the top checkbox to select all items shown on the page.
  3. Click Print Labels.
  4. Choose the label format that matches the label sheets you purchased.
  5. A PDF print preview will open. Confirm the layout, then print from your desktop printer.

SimpleConsign does not support arbitrary custom label sizes such as 1.5 × 1 inch labels. Use one of the supported Avery-compatible formats.

Printing at Home Outside of Consignor Access

We do not want vendors printing labels from outside of Consignor Access because of how easy it is to make mistakes with barcodes, strings of letters and numbers, and other item information.

If you absolutely must print labels outside of the portal, MCM is not responsible for any errors this may cause.

  • Items that do not ring up due to typos or editing mistakes will be credited as they are found.
  • Item inventory numbers may be incorrect due to typos or editing mistakes.

If printing your own barcode labels, the following information is mandatory:

  • Price
  • Barcode
  • SKU
  • Vendor #
  • Business name
Restocking

Always check in and out with staff, no matter how busy the store is.

  • Vendors may restock or adjust their spaces any time during Mall of New Hampshire operating hours. No appointment is necessary.
  • Use the designated loading entrance, follow the hall to the end, and turn left. Staff will not open the back door for loading.
  • MCM and its staff are not responsible for theft, loss, or breakage of display pieces or inventory in backstock or on the sales floor.
  • Backstock is only for merchandise that staff may need to restock between your visits. It is not for displays, out-of-season merchandise, or empty boxes.
  • Label all display pieces with your vendor number.
  • Use appropriately sized covered backstock bins.

$15/month — Extra Backstock Bin Add-On:

Add one additional backstock bin to your membership. The charge will be reflected on your monthly membership invoice.

Store Calendar

This calendar shows dates and times when the Manchester Craft Market classroom is booked for classes or other events. Use this calendar to plan restocks, especially during Holiday season when many people may be trying to restock at once.

How to Offer a Discount

Individual Items

You have two options for discounting an individual item:

  •  Change the price manually in the PRICE box.
This changes the selling price, but the item will not show as “on sale” at checkout, on receipts, or on the website.

  • Change the item's category to the appropriate SALE %% OFF category.
This will show the item as on sale at checkout, on receipts, and on the website.

All of Your Items

Email Admina Craftmarket at inventorymcm@gmail.com with the start date, end date, and percentage off.

We will hang a sign in your space and program the sale. These items will show as on sale at checkout, on receipts, and on the website.

Important:  Any item with DO NOT DISCOUNT checked will not have its price changed by a programmed sale.
The store is not responsible for items being excluded from a sale for this reason, as vendors are specifically instructed elsewhere in this guide not to check the DO NOT DISCOUNT box.

Online Orders

Customers are increasingly ordering items from our website, both for in-store pickup and to be shipped all over the country.

Dropping Off Online Orders

  1. Bring the completed item to the checkout and tell staff you are dropping it off for the customer by name.
  2. Staff will mark the order Ready for Pickup, send the customer a pickup notification, and print a pickup slip.
  3. Staple the pickup slip to the narrow side of the bag.
  4. Place the order on the pickup shelves alphabetically by the customer's last name.

No unpaid items may be placed on the pickup shelves.

Online Orders of In-Stock Items

For in-store pickup orders, staff will find the items ordered online, package them, and send Ready for Pickup emails to customers.

For shipped orders, staff will find the items ordered online, package them, and ship them to customers.

Custom Orders

Custom orders should be paid before you begin creating the physical product.

Do not work for free.

1. Create the Custom Order item in your portal

Name
Use the format Custom Order for ZZZ, using the customer's first name and last initial.

Price
Enter the full amount the customer needs to pay. If you are shipping the item directly from home to the customer, include the shipping cost in the price.

Extra Information
Add a short description of the custom item being created.

Example: “3x handmade mugs with mushrooms”

If you are shipping the item directly from home to the customer, also include:

“Price includes product price plus shipping from vendor”

Category
Select Custom Orders.

Brand
Start typing your business name, then click your business name from the list.

Do not rely on Tab or Enter to select your Brand. This can cause the brand selection not to “stick,” which will prevent the item from appearing in your website section.

2. Add the item added to the website

Post in the MCM Vendors Facebook group or message Admina Craftmarket directly and ask for the custom-order item to be added to the website.

You can also use the Simple Consign Photo app to add your own custom order photo to the item by search the SKU in the app or scanning the barcode.

Once added, the item will appear in:

3. Send the customer the payment link

Send the customer the direct link to their custom-order item, or send them to the Pay for a Custom Order page to complete payment.

Wait until the custom order has been paid before beginning production.

Dropping Off Custom Orders

Shipping Custom Orders from Home

When creating a custom order that you will ship directly from home, use the standard custom-order naming convention:

Name: Custom Order for ZZZ

Use the customer's first name and last initial.

Include the shipping cost in the item's total price.

In Extra Information, include a short description of the custom item being created and add:

“Price includes product price plus shipping from vendor”

After you ship the package, email or message us with the tracking number so we can enter it in our system.

If tracking information is not shared with us, we may restrict your ability to ship custom orders directly from home.

Shipping

All items on our website are automatically available for shipping now, for a $14.99 fee.

Some items are far too small for this fee and would benefit from being added to a shipping profile, which allows us to calculate shipping costs based on weight and size instead of a high flat rate.

Shipping Profiles

Vendors can add their items to shipping profiles by using the tester boxes located above the pickup shelves in the classroom.

How to Figure Out the Shipping Profile

  1. Wrap your item in bubble wrap.
  2. Package it in the tester boxes using the various fold lines and find the best fit.
  3. Tell Admina Craftmarket the SKU number, box number, fold line, and tier number.

Shipping Custom Orders from Home

If you ship a custom order directly to the customer from home, email or message us with the package tracking number so we can enter it in our system.

If tracking information is not shared with us, we may restrict your ability to ship custom orders directly from home.

Marketing, Events & Classes

Ways to promote your business, participate in annual store events, and offer classes and workshops.

Using the Online Shopping Group

Take Advantage of Our Engaged Audience!

Once your first month’s invoice is paid, you may begin advertising your business and items.

You may post once per day with pictures, descriptions, and prices of your products. Share your products, your process, and your inspiration.

Occasionally we will allow multiple posts per day for set periods of time. These times are announced in the private vendor group.

Why posting matters:

  • Customers often come in asking, “I saw this thing posted in the Facebook group. Could you help me find it?”
  • Some shoppers find the store a little overwhelming and like to browse the group to see what’s new.
  • Some use it to learn about products and inquire about custom orders.
  • Others shop exclusively from the Facebook group, have family pick up their prepaid orders, and have never physically been in the store.

Ideas for useful posts

  • Who: Who are you? Who are your products for?
  • What: What is the item? What is it made from? What problem can it solve?
  • Why: Why do you make it? Why should someone buy it?
  • Where: Where are you based? Where are you located in the store? Where do you source materials?
  • How: How is it made? How is it used?

MCM Maker tag on Facebook Group

Vendors who post regularly on the public Facebook group (the "sales group") get a tag next to their name that says "MCM Maker". This is a Facebook group role that needs to be accepted. Visit the Facebook group directly and should see the invitation to accept the MCM Maker role.

Online Selling Photo Rules

  • Censor profanity in product photos.
  • Do not use trademarked characters, sports team logos, or similar copyrighted/trademarked imagery.
  • Use bright, clean, sharp photos.
  • Do not use stock photos from suppliers.
Annual Store Events

Recurring Special Events

  • March Mystery Month: month-long Mystery Bag event.
  • Second-hand Craft Supply Destash Sale: June.
  • Christmas in July
  • Local Author Book Fair
  • Small Business Saturday: Saturday after Thanksgiving/Black Friday.
Classes & Workshops

Reserve Your Class Date & Time

Once you have clicked Book, staff will get a notification of your Request.

A Request is a Request and is not final until the Facebook event and Class Tickets are available for sale on the website.

We will add new classes to the website on Thursdays. Anything booked after 12pm on Thursday will wait until the following Thursday.

Create the Class in Your Portal

Enter the class using the following information:

  • Name: Use the format MM/DD Class Name.
  • Extra Information: Include the class description and any important details for customers.
  • Quantity: Enter the number of seats available.
  • Brand: Enter your business name using the same Brand-selection instructions elsewhere in this guide.
  • Category: Always select Classes.

You can also access the Google Calendar booking page at manchestercraftmarket.com/vendorportal.

Make sure to update the MM/DD at the beginning of the item title in your portal if the class date changes.

Classes FAQ

  • Manchester Craft Market will receive 20% of all Class ticket sales to cover use of the space.
  • Class ticket prices must include all items necessary to achieve the goal of the class. Eg: A rock painting class must include paint, rocks, paint brushes, rinsing cups, etc.
  • Please have a good idea of the cost per person to run a class and charge accordingly. We want everyone to profit from teaching classes!
  • Classes are a minimum of 2 hours. You book a 3 hour slot that includes setup, class and cleanup time.
  • Classes must be booked at least 3 weeks in advance in order to generate interest and sell tickets.
  • If a vendor cancels a Class with attendees, they are responsible for contacting customers and/or rescheduling the class.
  • Classes will require a minimum of 5 attendees to happen. If there are not enough ticket sales within 7 days of the event, the event will be canceled and all ticket money will be returned to students. Not currently enforced.
  • In the event of Class cancellation by a vendor, commission for ticket sales will not be refunded by MCM. Not currently enforced.

Class Event Images

Create the event image in Canva using the template on the Google Calendar, or email photos to inventorymcm@gmail.com for us to create the image.

The canva template is set up in a very particular way. Do not resize the center block. Use the center block as a guide for the width of the class information text. Size the text to fill the center box and maximize visibility on Facebook and anywhere else the image is cropped.

Product Photos and Live Sales

  • Photos have moved to the back room and do not require an appointment. Photos are first come, first served.
  • Live sales can be booked in any class slot.

Details may be updated and modified as we move forward with this new venture.

Guide Last updated 10/2026.

Please contact Jessica with any questions or concerns.
