It all started because I wanted silk pajamas. My mom told me that I needed to learn how to make them. So I took Homemaking in High School and learned how to sew. My mother taught me many things as well because she was an amazing seamstress and beyond creative. Fast forward to my years in business and I gifted...

In the late 16th century, King James the VI, the son of Mary, Queen of Scots, captures an entire family who have been terrorizing the Scottish countryside with acts against God and man. The family pays the ultimate price for their crimes. So says the legend. But what if King James had not captured all family members? What if two had been missed? Survived? A brother and sister who then began to renew the family and keep the bloodline intact. And what if, forty years later, the descendants of the slain patriarch come to the new world, bringing with them the old ways of the family. The stealing. The killing. The unspeakable. For one hundred years they terrorize the settlements of the colonies, slowly moving ever north and leaving behind death, until finally settling in a picturesque valley in New Hampshire in 1722. Two hundred and fifty years later, Barbara Taylor and her family re-locate to the quiet, rural community of Girvan, leaving the hectic pace of the city far behind. Sitting o...
I have always enjoyed a good story. For many years I published and wrote stories about the local sports teams and entertainment groups in the section of New Hampshire where I live. Now that I am retired, I have turned my enjoyment of the written word to writing novels that have real, everyday people, facing adversity from very bad situations and dangerous bad guys. My first novel, THE TWINS, uses the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center as a plot device for conspiracy theorists. My second novel, GIRVAN, takes a centuries old Scottish legend and brings the horror of it to a late 20th century town in New Hampshire. LEOPOLD CHRIST {rhymes with list} begins with the discovery of bones in a cave in France and the appearance of the mysterious Leopold Christ who knows all about those bones from thousands of years ago. Written during the pandemic, I used the story as a means to convey the frustration of the older person with a younger person who will not believe what he is being told even with the facts that are presented to him. THE SONS OF ABRAHAM is set in a small New Hampshire town during the mid to late 1950's. The good twin Isaac and the evil twin Ishmael. Read it the first time and it is a thriller. Read it a second time and it is a horror. THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF ANNIE BROOKS is the story of retired schoolteacher Annie Brooks who lives on Cape Cod. Every morning she walks the beach by her home and during these walks she reflects on her life, sometimes the good things that happened to her but all too often the disappointments that she has endured and the secrets that no one knows. Into her life comes Laura Kingston, a younger woman. She, too, has secrets. And that is all I will say about those two. In each book, ordinary people find themselves in extraordinary circumstances that place them in danger. I enjoy thrillers, soft sci-fi, mystery and realistic horror. In my early teens, I particularly enjoyed Ian Fleming, Agatha Christie, Jules Verne. In later years, I have enjoyed early Cussler, early Jack Higgins, Forsyth, Grisham, Robert Parker, Cruz Smith among others. Fun stories, with strong characters and not a lot of things that got in the way of that story.
