I'm Christine, the maker and owner of Sew Creative Gift Shop! Sewing is something that is near and dear to me as I started sewing alongside my grandmother when I was a child. Today Sew Creative Gift Shop is entering its 10th year in business and you can find my items in various stores, in person at a number of New England area events, and on my website.
Additionally I offer sewing classes where I help others learn the joy (and fun!) of creating something by hand.

Sewing machine classes take place over 4 weeks, meeting weekly for 2 hours. All materials are included in the class fee. In the first class, we'll cover sewing machine basics and jump into creating a reversible tote bag. We will also make a zippered pouch and pillow over the course of the program. What You Need to Bring: Your working sewing machine (optional, but highly recommended for personalized learning, limited machines are available to rent for the session). All machine accessories, including power cords. Your machine's manual if you have it (not required, but helpful). This class is not an introduction to your machine. In this 2-hour session, you will receive training on your machine including Parts of your machine Needles - the differences between each and how/when to change them Presser feet - various types and uses Practice stitches Threading the machine Overview of different types of fabrics and threads Basic maintenance and troubleshooting. What You Need to Know: This class is an introduction to your machine and is geared towards getting you comfortable with the functions on your machine and allowing you to get familiar with sewing terminology. You will leave with sewing samples rather than finished projects.What You Need to Bring: Your working sewing machine (optional, but highly recommended for personalized learning, limited machines are available to rent for the session). All machine accessories, including power cords. Your machine's manual if you have it (not required, but helpful).
This intermediate sewing machine class will take place over 3 weeks, meeting weekly for 2 hours. All materials are included. You will make an apron using a pattern and leave with the following skills: Ability to read a basic pattern, fabric cutting techniques, basting and topstitching. What You Need to Bring: Your working sewing machine (optional, but highly recommended for personalized learning; limited machines are available to rent for the session). All machine accessories, including power cords. Your machine's manual if you have it (not required, but helpful). This class is not an introduction to your machine and you should be able to sew straight line and troubleshoot your machine.
