Making jewelry has always been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. Over the years I picked it up and put it down only to come back to it and try again when something new would spark my creativity. A few years back my mother reignited my desire to make jewelry when she came to me with a pair of cherished amber earring, one of which had slipped its setting and she could no longer wear. The stones are quite beautiful and she wanted to continue to enjoy wearing them in some way so she gave them to me and said can you do something with these… so I did. At that time I had recently been following wire work jewelry artist and loved what they could do with a simple piece of wire so I started watching tutorials on YouTube and experimenting with techniques and turned those earrings into a wire wrapped pendant and bracelet. This sparked a flame and before I knew it I had more jewelry than I knew what to do with. I started giving them as gifts to my family and friends and as a result was encouraged by them to try to sell my work. I had admired MCM for a while and decided to take the next step and try put my work out there. Jess took me in and gave me a tiny shelf that over the years grew to a 4x4 foot section that I filled not only with my jewelry creations but a new little line of happy Acorn Cap Critters. And so that spark ignited a flame that continues to burn with the help of The Manchester Craft Market.
