About the original: Acrylic on paper, 11"x15", 2023, Painted by Jackie Hanson This is my third New Hampshire painting, depicting a field of sunflowers at golden hour, complete with an orange chicken hanging out beneath the blooms. I was inspired to paint this for the sunflower festival at Coppal House Farm in Lee, NH. To create the original painting, I traced the cover of a New Hampshire atlas and transferred the shape to watercolor paper. Then, I applied 1/4" masking tape around the entire thing, did my painting in acrylic, and peeled the tape away at the end.
