About the original: Gouache on paper, 11"x15", 2022, painted by Jackie Hanson This is my second New Hampshire painting, depicting Route 93 winding through Franconia Notch in the winter. For lovers of New Hampshire and New England winters, this evokes that feeling of the peaceful storm. To create the original painting, I traced the cover of a New Hampshire atlas and transferred the shape to watercolor paper. Then, I applied 1/4" masking tape around the entire thing, did my painting in gouache, and peeled the tape away at the end.
